Key Clubs have a fantastic opportunity to boost their impact in their communities with Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) grants. Exclusively available to Key Clubs, these grants range from US$250 to US$2,000 and can be applied for in two cycles each year. The first cycle requires applications by October 15, with decisions made by November 15 and final reports due by December 31 of the following year. The second cycle has a deadline of March 1, with decisions by April 1 and final reports due by April 30 of the following year. Each Key Club can receive one grant per year, with applications reviewed by a Key Club International Board committee.

Here are a few tips for applying for a Youth Opportunities Fund grant:

  1. Start early: Begin your application well in advance of the deadline to avoid last-minute stress.
  2. Plan carefully: Develop a detailed proposal outlining your service project, budget, timeline and expected outcomes.
  3. Use Foundant: To begin an application, create a club account on Foundant, the online grant management system.
  4. Provide accurate information: You’ll need your Key Club’s name, club ID number and district, which can be found on the Membership Update Center site.
  5. Complete a community needs assessment: This assessment helps identify and address a specific need in your community.
  6. Review and edit: Have your advisor review your application to catch any errors or areas for improvement.
  7. Submit on time: Be sure to submit your complete application by the deadline.
