Congratulations to the four clubs that won first place in the Key Club Signature Project Contest. In its second year, the contest recognizes outstanding service projects or fundraisers conducted by Key Clubs. To qualify, a project must have been held annually for three to five years. This year’s winners exemplify the dedication and impact that Key Clubs are known for in their communities.

Bronze winner: Clubs with 35 or fewer members

Jonathan Law High School, New England and Bermuda District

Jonathan Law Key Club members participate in the Salvation Army’s bell-ringing fundraiser every weekend during the holiday season. This initiative, held at a local supermarket, aims to inspire community members to give back. The project has seen a surge in volunteer participation, with members dedicating hours in the cold to support the cause. In 2023, they raised over US$1,200 for the Salvation Army. The project also attracted nine new club members, and 30 members were involved in planning and execution.

Silver winner: Clubs with 36-60 members

Brainerd High School, Minnesota-Dakotas District

The Haunted Trail, a three-night Halloween-themed event at the Northland Arboretum in October 2023, received support from 16 members of the Brainerd High School Key Club. Three chairpersons and webmasters spearheaded the planning and advertising of the event on social media. Volunteers set up an Egyptian-themed section and donned costumes and makeup to scare trail-goers. The proceeds from the event, which attracted 3,400 attendees, support the Arboretum’s diverse array of nature-inspired classes and recreational outlets.

Gold winner: Clubs with 61-85 members

Vista Grande High School, Southwest District

The Key Club Blood Drive has made a remarkable impact in Casa Grande, Arizona, U.S., particularly benefiting adults and senior citizens. The club averages 96 donations every year, potentially saving 288 lives. In addition, Vista Grande Key Club has gained 27 new members through the event. The project engages students, providing them with roles in organizing, promoting and managing the blood drives. This collective effort not only addresses a critical need but also instills a sense of community service and responsibility among the Key Club members.

Platinum winner: Clubs with 86 or more members

Allen High School, Texas-Oklahoma District
