Every year in the United States, 700 women die during childbirth, and 50,000 more face serious health complications while giving birth. In the U.S., 1 in 9 babies is born prematurely. Determining exactly what causes these issues is complex, but we know the problems exist. The March of Dimes promotes healthy moms and babies and works to prevent prematurity. November is Prematurity Awareness Month, and November 17 is Prematurity Awareness Day.
Clubs can sign up to get a free toolkit. The toolkit includes social media posts, 10 ways to get involved, information about March of Dimes’ mission and more. Perfect for any size club, it includes ideas with many different levels of involvement.
