Why did you join Key Club?
Before I entered high school, my brother told me about Key Club and what it meant to him. He said that being a Key Club member taught him about leadership and gave him a space where he could volunteer and do good work for the community with friends. When given the opportunity to join Key Club in high school, I didn’t think twice.
Past Key Club International leadership experience:
Lieutenant governor
Why did you decide to run for the Key Club International board?
I loved my experience on my district board. Meeting so many friends and working in such a distinct environment was the highlight of my entire high school career up to that point. Coming to the end of the service year, I still had a lot of ambition and ideas for Key Club International. I knew that I wanted to continue working in a board environment, and I admired the trustees a lot, so I decided to set forward on my dream of running.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Celebrating Key Club’s successful 100th birthday in Orlando!
What do you like most about Key Club International?
It allows people from any background to learn valuable leadership skills, and it lets you meet so many friends that you never forget.
What is your favorite Key Club memory and why?
My favorite Key Club memory was my first time volunteering to sing and dance at GiGi’s Playhouse Karaoke with adults with Down syndrome. I brought my friend to come with me, and we did an amazing rendition of “Chandelier” that left everyone in a good mood. The energy in the room was so infectious that I haven’t stopped going to karaoke since.
