Mental Health Awareness Month has come to a close, and I want to send a big thank you to all the wonderful Key Clubs that joined us in taking the Erika’s Lighthouse Positivity Pledge. Your dedication to spreading awareness and positivity has been inspiring. It was both impactful and uplifting to see my Instagram feed flooded with posts from everyone participating. I am sure that impact was even greater in each of your communities. We are making great and meaningful strides in breaking down stigmas about mental health and creating a more inclusive culture.
The conclusion of Mental Health Awareness Month does not need to mark the end of supporting mental health. The next major event will be the Give Voice Campaign during Suicide Prevention Week — September 10-16, 2024. I hope to see all of you join us to Give Voice to education, seeking help, awareness, positivity and yourself!
However, we don’t have to limit mental health advocacy to these two annual events. Being a leader in promoting good mental health can happen year-round. Erika’s Lighthouse has many school-based service projects, called Awareness into Action Activities, to keep the positivity going throughout the year. You can find them in the Erika’s Lighthouse Resource Portal. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about leveraging these activities.
Thank you again for your participation in the Positivity Pledge — and for everything you do to support and serve your communities.
