Key Club International offers the Global Leadership Certificate program for members. Through videos, assessments, resources and other activities, you’ll learn how to get your voice heard and your community’s concerns met.
You’ll have access to nearly 40 courses on topics including building meaningful relationships, strategic versus tactical leadership, self-awareness, inclusion, civic engagement and being an agent for change.

The courses are based on Key Club’s core values of fellowship, leadership and service. You’ll strengthen traditional skills as well as in-demand soft skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, resiliency and more.
Participants may also take part in special opportunities, such as the Global Leadership Certificate Master Class held during the Key Club International convention.
This program won’t just help you stand out as a candidate for colleges/grad school, trade schools or employers — it will help you become a stronger leader and changemaker.
There is no registration. Members can start immediately if their personal emails are included on their clubs’ rosters. Students can access the courses by clicking a hyperlink in Kiwanis Connect (Kiwanis.org/login). Step-by-step directions for starting the coursework are here.
First, make sure your club advisor or secretary has included your personal email on the club’s roster through the Membership Update Center. You may change or create a password to Kiwanis Connect by clicking on the Change Password link. Global Leadership Certificate courses can be accessed through Kiwanis Connect (kiwanis.org/login). Courses are self-paced and can be accessed at any time. Students will need a web browser.
Course length varies, but most take about an hour to complete. To get the most value, we recommend an additional few hours for related activities, reflection and/or journaling.

The Global Leadership Certificate does not count toward community service. But a number of the courses, if taken in conjunction with a service project, can enrich your learning and support you as you take a leadership role in that project.
No! The cost is included in your membership, although your club must be in good standing for you to participate in the Global Leadership Certificate program. Grants from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, Tomorrow Fund and Youth Opportunity Fund were awarded to initiate the program.
Yes! You will also receive a certificate after completing all the courses.
Most courses involve watching a short video, reading content, completing a wrap-up activity or quiz, and engaging in personal reflection.
Global Leadership Certificate courses are currently offered in English only. The Global Leadership Certificate is supported by Kiwanis Children’s Fund grants from the Youth Opportunity and Tomorrow funds.
