Key Club International members have raised more than $750,000 in support of the Swazi Children’s Care Project through the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF initiative. Key Clubbers plan on raising a whole lot more during the annual fundraiser this fall.

“We are proud of the phenomenal effort put forth by high schoolers across the country this year to truly effect change on the ground in Africa,” notes Mike Downs, Key Club International director. “Their clear commitment to the cause is sure to benefit a region in much need of attention: Swaziland.”

In Swaziland, a small, landlocked country in southern Africa, more than one third of the adult population is infected with HIV/AIDS, and the disease has left thousands of children orphaned and at risk. Key Club has teamed up with UNICEF to support the Swazi Children’s Care Project, a lifesaving program that funds hundreds of safe havens where community volunteers provide health services, nutritious meals, and care to Swaziland’s children.
